We’ve always working in person with seniors and due to the recent affairs of the COVID 19, we recognize the importance of continuing program with vulnerable populations, like seniors, who may experience isolation as it is.  Continuing programing like fitness, exercise, mindfulness, and even stimulating conversations and performances during times of great change can keep people optimistic, connected to their communities, and feeling whole inside themselves and a part of life.

We’ve begun offering classes for seniors online and would love to see if we can support your community during this time.

Staff at senior facilities may also need extra support, if the bulk of activities has suddenly fallen on their shoulders.  So, we see this as a way to give staff necessary time to do other important tasks while the seniors get real, sincere and meaningful programming.

The mental, emotional and physical health of staff at elder care facilities, hospitals and elsewhere are also just as important.

 

We offer instructional online videos in mindfulness, meditation, yoga, self-awareness and self-management tools for health worker staff members weekly that can be viewed on line.  Health workers have access to these videos from work or home to learn healthy self-care routines and how to de-stress in healthy ways so they can remain at their best during trying times.

More About Sarah’s Work With Seniors

Sarah Haykel began working with senior citizens in 2012.  Over the past several years, she’s created programs that stimulate seniors mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  Programs focus on muscle tone, balance and greater mobility, rhythm, mental agility, community building and mindfulness.  Improvements in individual’s mental and emotional health, community bonding, physical stamina and personal expression have been seen in residents at various locations.

Fitness classes consist of a blend of yoga, mindfulness, dance, exercise and/or playing percussive instruments. Haykel or other trained facilitator will conduct classes.  Chair yoga and meditation classes are also available for 30-minutes to one-hour.  Performances, lectures and life coaching workshop topics are also available for both seniors and staff of facilities.

It’s been several years since my meeting with Abram, and things are evolving.  Now, we have more of a Dance Party than anything, where seniors get to move, wiggle, shake, connect with care givers, family members and each other in new ways, hear music from all over the world, and enjoy my dancing and that of my dance partners!
